POST - Sukkoth / Feast of Tabernacles 2006 at Lake of the Ozarks State Park update
I would like to say that our Feast this year could be summed up by Psalm 133:
Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity....
We are all very thankful to our Father YHWH for blessing us with love and shalom and many other blessings.
We were tremendously blessed this year with many talented brethren, and with many young adults, as well as children. We had many group discussions, fireside singalongs, and much music from a multitude of talent.
Several groups were present or represented, and different calendars as well. We reached a consensus much to everyone's good humor, that we had the Conjunctioneers and the Sliverites as a couple of the differing calendar views. Vickie Steele and Rick Hays were instigators of the names for those different calendar adherents. Of course everyone picked up on this and had lots of fun with it. With YHWH's Ruach, we were all able to gather and fellowship with love and Shalom.
Some of the States people came from: Tennessee, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Arizona, Wisconsin, Kansas, Florida, Louisiana, Missisippi, Kentucky, and Georgia.
One of the big lessons that everyone seemed to realize is that their brethren have convictions and reasons for reaching certain understandings. The most important thing to give to our brethren is the benefit of the doubt that they are sincerely seeking the truth of the matter.
Some of the differences we have is because there is room in the Word for differing understandings. Some things are not exactly clear cut and defined. Quite a few of us feel that YHWH has done this for a reason. That reason is so that we may exercise and grow the fruits of the Ruach with our brethren. Some of the 'contentious' issues can very easily be resolved with just a little clarifying from Yahshua when He returns. The moral of the story is that the developing of the fruit of the Ruach is more important than technical differences in doctrine on not so clear cut issues.
Averaqe attendance was around 75 with a peak of 89. When the Eldon group came out, there were approximately 120. We had plenty of room, and everyone was very pleased with the facilities. These group camps are awesome!
One of the highlights of the Feast was when the Eldon Feast group came out on wednesday for grilled lamb, BBQ lamb ribs, Kosher hotdogs, and Angus burgers. During and afterwards we enjoyed much fellowship followed by a talent show that night. Many thanks to Jim Ingle for making the suggestion for fellowship/fun day at Clover Point.
Earlier in the Feast before it got cold, we were able to get the waverunners in the water. The teens and even some parents were able to enjoy zipping accross the water.
The only downside to the Feast (besides the ending) was missing the families that had planned on coming, but did not make it for various reasons.
I plan on putting up pictures soon, and they will be linked to from this page.
I would like to welcome any favorite times, thoughts or comments from anyone who was there this year at the Feast. If anyone sends me any comments I will add them to this page:
Rick Hays said:
"This year's was like no other that I had ever been to, in that although there were those holding diverse opinions as to the exact date of the Feast, such trivial differences were put away and genuine love reigned supreme amongst all present."
