NASB 1 Corinthians 15:29 Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?
I had been reading on this a little. There appears to be a number of different interepretations of this passage (over 40 academic suggestions). What are some of your thoughts? Specifically the cotext of Chapter 15, the historical context (both Jewish mikvah and pagan immersion rituals) seem to offer some different interpretations.
I would love to hear some solid feedback on this passage :)
