Sukkoth / Feast of Tabernacles 2006 at Lake of the Ozarks State Park

Sukkoth / Feast of Tabernacles 2006 Update:

We have reserved a group camp, Camp Clover Point at Lake of the Ozarks State Park for brethren who wish to gather together in fellowship and rejoicing at YHWH's Sukkoth 2006.

Right now we have 96 people that have confirmed, and it looks like the most we will have is around 100. The camp has a capacity of 170, so it looks like we will have plenty of room!

When: Oct 5th through Oct 15th.

Plan on arriving Thursday, October 5th in the afternoon (from 2:00 to 4:00pm), and leaving the morning of sunday, October 15th. The Last Day is friday, so we reserved the grounds until sunday morning. That way we are able to observe the High day and Sabbath day in peace and rest. We are also blessed with a little longer Sukkoth this way. NOTE: The group camp is reserved for Monday OCT 16 also for those who are going by the sliver moon calendar.

Cost: The cost will be $30 per person, which covers use of Camp Clover facilities, utilities, and trash pickup.

If we end up with more people than expected, and have any additional funds, we will most likely use them for the purchase of items listed under additional costs.

Additional costs would be firewood, food, paper products, cleaning products, trash bags, etc. These costs are normally taken care of by group effort and contribution after the women have designed a meal schedule and shopping list.

Camp Clover Point includes a dining hall with a kitchen, 8 sleeping barracks with modern restrooms and showers, a couple of staff cabins, a recreation hall, volleyball and basketball playcourts and a waterfront.

Please check it out:

Please note that our group is responsible for maintaining our area, and maid service, etc doesn't come with the group camp, so... :o)

If you would like to volunteer for:

  • cleaning coordinator
  • grounds upkeep coordinator

Please let me know.

The main purpose of a coordinator(s) is so that everyone has only one person to gripe at. LOL, not really, just so that a designated person takes care of organizing the group effort in their particular specialty.

PLEASE assist the coordinators in any way they need help.

Hopefully doing it this way will help keep any one person from getting overwhelmed. If anyone has ideas, please feel free to bring them up.

Some more info:

Items Needed

Each camper needs to provide their own sheets, blankets, or sleeping bags, pillows, towels, bath soap, toothpaste and other personal items.

Our group must provide all cleaning supplies including brooms, mops, buckets, paper towels, trash bags and non-abrasive cleaners and disinfectants. The group camp does not come with first-aid supplies, toilet paper, sports equipment, art supplies or audio-visual equipment.

Food Service

Group camp dining halls are equipped with ovens, refrigerators, freezers, tables and seating. For the convenience of campers, dishes, silverware, glasses and cookware are provided. Groups must provide their own food and food service workers.

Park representatives maintain the right to conduct kitchen inspections as often as deemed necessary. Groups must meet the sanitation laws and regulations governing food service as set by the Missouri Department of Health. If the group fails to meet these standards, the facility may be closed.

It is our group's responsibility to sweep, mop and clean all restrooms and buildings.

If we keep things clean, none of this should be a problem. The nice thing is, we are the only ones using these facilities, so we are only cleaning up our own messes!

A couple of y'all are planning on bringing RV's and parking them at camping spots in the park, which will be a great option for anyone who wants to come to the group camp in the morning/day/evenings, and stay the nights in the comforts of their portable condo's. :o)

We will be located about 17 miles Southeast of Eldon, and it will be very convenient for everyone wishing to visit there, or go back and forth to the services being held there at the Congregation of YHWH building on Hwy 54.

If I get any further information, I will send it out to y'all. If you know someone who would be interested, please pass this information on to them.

PLEASE READ the UPDATE PAGE, which has further information.

If you have special needs or if you have any questions, please feel free to

give me a call.
